Mark Melancon

Now that IPK has officially dicked me, I guess I need to ride with someone else.

Mark Melancon was just called up to Double A Trenton and threw two innings last night. He throws gas and could be the answer in the 8th inning along with JB Cox when Joba becomes a starter.

Age: 23 (March 28, 1985)
Position:P Throws: Right
Ht/Wt: 6'2" 210 lbs
From: Wheat Ridge CO USA

Expected to be an early round pick back in 2006, Mark Melancon slipped down to the Yankees in the 9th round that year due to injury concerns. Succumbing to Tommy John surgery after just six professional appearances with the Staten Island Yankees that same year, the former University of Arizona closer has worked his way back and some insiders believe he could have a 'Joba-like' year in 2008.
